Baking tends to be a hobby for many of us, simply because it feels impossible to find desserts we can buy–already made–that are actually kosher.
But we’ve found a hidden gem in the Philadelphia area–just a quick Patco train ride, and a ten-minute walk. But with the weather getting so nice, who wouldn’t mind a stroll outside?
Sweet Freedom Bakery began specifically to cater to customers with food allergies. Sweet Freedom is not only certified kosher and vegan, but they are also free of: gluten, wheat, casein, dairy, peanuts, eggs, corn, soy, and refined sugar.
With so many restrictions, you might wonder what they DO put in their baked goods. But rest assured, they have their ingredients list for everything online, as well as at their two locations: Philadelphia, PA, and Bryn Mawr, PA. And their employees are happy to answer any questions over the phone, through email, or in person.
(And yes, their treats are also delicious!)
We know, we know. This is the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, not Philadelphia. But we had to share–because it doesn’t matter where you live. Sometimes, you just need a good, kosher cupcake that you didn’t have to bake yourself.
