Jewish Business Network: Growing and Thriving

The Jewish Business Network (JBN) is just one of the many ways to get involved with the Jewish Federation. JBN helps connect business professionals through networking events, and increases Jewish awareness in the professional area.

Their events vary from networking breakfasts, to happy hours, to special guest speakers. They are the perfect place to make new business contacts, meet potential partners, look for jobs, and so much more.

They welcome individuals, established companies, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, creative services, nonprofits, and other professionals who want to network and grow professionally.

JBN, now at 30 members, has tripled in size in just the last six months. Debbie Boyer, who is in charge of growing affinity groups at the Federation, recently opened up about how she was able to help JBN grow. She met with JBN lay leaders to understand their vision for the future.

“I heard what people were saying about what they wanted to see happen, and tried to get it going,” she explains.

One of her favorite events just happened last month: a special happy hour, that included Federation CEO Jennifer Dubrow Weiss educating JBN about the Federation and its agencies. She then gave them a behind-the-scenes tour of the Weinberg Jewish Community campus.

“It served several purposes,” Debbie says. “It was fun, educational, and informative at the same time. It also addressed exactly what the group asked for. Jen was an awesome speaker, and the group loved her!”

Debbie explains that although the group is not huge, it is strong; people enjoy helping each other grow their businesses. She has a knack for connecting people.

“JBN members feel that the Federation cares about making sure JBN grows, thrives, and continues to be successful. And that’s a great feeling.”

Are you interested in joining the Jewish Business Network, or just giving it a test-run? JBN networking breakfasts are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month (only the 3rd Wednesday for July and August). Meetings include a complimentary breakfast, and a 30-second business spotlight for each attendee. First-time guests and job seekers are welcome, at no charge!
